The fur of the wolverine is coarse in texture but extremely durable; it will outwear most other commercial furs. The Eskimos and northern Indians value the fur highly for lining their parkas, particularly about the face, because the fur, unlike most other furs, does not collect frost or hold moisture from the breath. Although not extensively used, other uses made of wolverine fur include trimming material, and it is said that a number of skins sewn together make a beautiful hearthrug. Wolverine fur is prime at all seasons, but the value of the pelt may vary seasonally.
